When your marine operation takes you into uncharted waters, a forward-looking sonar helps you see what lies ahead under the water. Alerts based on depth, distance from the vessel and estimated time to impact can be configured to warn of potential collision hazards.
What our tech can do for you
Underwater forward looking range detection
Always looking forward, even at speed
Stunning bathymetry and colour coded depth imagery
Integrates with your existing bridge systems
Radar and AIS alert you to navigation hazards above the water, but what about those below it? Poorly charted waters and submerged objects can cause vessel groundings or collisions, placing everyone onboard at risk. Install our forward looking sonar (FLS) and transform your underwater situational awareness.
Providing live and past vessel track, detailed 3D bathymetry out to 600 m and automated warnings of unseen collision hazards on and beneath the waterline out to 1.5 km, Vigilant FLS offers mariners with unprecedented subsurface situational awareness.
See what lies ahead
Human and charting errors are the largest causes of vessel groundings and collisions when navigating. That’s why if you’re transiting routes, even familiar ones, a forward looking sonar can help you see what lies ahead under the water and automatically warn you of hidden dangers.
Our solution, Vigilant FLS, has been designed in collaboration with ship’s officers for a wide of vessel types, including passenger ships, naval vessels, research ships, commercial ships, and private superyachts. It’s also idea for uncrewed vessels, where situational awareness, to aid remote piloting, is critical.
Real time imaging
Using dual sonar transducers installed in the bow of your vessel, Vigilant works by scanning the water column at a navigationally significant range ahead of the vessel in order to generate a 3D model of the seabed. The model is displayed relative to the vessel and overlaid on nautical charts in real-time, providing your crew with an easy to interpret image of the underwater topography the vessel is passing through.
Alerts can be configured to warn of potential collision hazards or shallow water. These can be based on depth, distance from the vessel and estimated time to impact. Multiple alerts can be programmed and are displayed in the profile view and depth scale. Uniquely, Vigilant also offers an intruder detection capability to warn of divers approaching your vessel when it’s stationary. Vigilant is designed to be retro-fitted to existing vessels as well as new vessels and comes with comprehensive engineering support and advice to ensure installation, commissioning and crew training is trouble-free.
