Finance Assistant (Brasil)

We are looking for a Finance Assistant  to analyze, control and verify activities in the accounting sector of the company by carrying out the appropriate tasks to comply with Brazilian Taxation system. To ensure taxation information is correctly uploaded on Sonardyne’s ERP (Protheus) and supply adequate support to operations. Monitor changes in tax legislation and its application on internal procedures to ensure and guarantee compliance and quality standards.

Your responsibilities:

• To issue and request Notas Fiscais for all sales of goods and services in accordance with information provided in documentation pack provided by operations. Ensure correct application of applicable taxes (PIS/COFINS/CSLL/INSS and local ISS taxes) upon issuing NF, send to Receita Federal and update hard copy files.
• To provide technical advice and guidance on which Nota Fiscal is required for each item or service before importing, by working closely with Adail Costa and the Finance Manager to ensure the Company complies with Brazilian Tax
• To manage the Fixed Asset Register, updating Protheus with additions, disposals and tracking of assets to new users/locations, liaising with staff to assign asset stickers and record the correct serial numbers. The monthly depreciation journal from the fixed assets module to the general ledger needs to be posted and month end reconciliations between the fixed asset module and the general ledger are to be completed.
• To chase all outstanding debtors, ensuring Customers make timely payments.
• To create payments to suppliers.
• To conduct the annual stock take, participate in counting, labelling and cross checking/ investigating discrepancies that may occur. Execute any required adjustments on Protheus.
• To actively contribute to the development of new working processes and practices to improve the efficiency of the accounting processes and the Finance department as a whole.
• To support the Finance Manager and work closely with third-party accounting services (Adail Costa). Including the preparation of month end prepayments and accruals, preparation and posting of general ledger journals, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting,
• Performing bookkeeping functions which include, classification, accounting adjustment and prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile Asset and Liability accounts and preparation Assets and Liabilities reports monthly.
• Elaborate Cash Flow, KPI, P&L, Balance Sheet, I.Co Balances and Exchange Variation report for Sonardyne UK.
• Preparing routine fixed asset accounting duties as depreciation, maintaining the listing of fixed assets and listing of rental invoices.
• Responsible for customer repair invoice entries, register and control battery kits and reconciliation of inventory to the General Ledger

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

Essential:

• Strong knowledge of Nota Fiscal and working to comply with Brazilian tax authorities
• Experience of working in accounts in O&G sector
• Experience of integrated ERP systems would be advantageous
