Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out soldering, crimping, wiring and precision assembly activities using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and wiring schedules to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Using appropriate measuring and test equipment to check the quality and accuracy of completed work.
  • Identifying and reporting any assembly issues, design discrepancies or non-conformances, working with colleagues to resolve them.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with our quality procedures, safety standards and recommended production times.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Production Engineering, Quality, Stores and Manufacturing to keep production running smoothly.
  • Maintaining accurate production records and using our internal ERP and IT systems to support day-to-day activities.
  • Supporting fellow Assembly Operators when required, contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Getting involved in continuous improvement activities, helping us find smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and understands the importance of precision, consistency and quality in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production assembly environment.
  • Practical soldering and crimping experience.
  • The ability to read, understand and work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Confidence using assembly tools and equipment, including soldering irons, crimping tools and other production equipment.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to use computer-based systems to record and retrieve information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A proactive, flexible approach, with the ability to manage priorities and work to production deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly.
  • Previous experience working with electronic or electro-mechanical products.
  • An interest in continuous improvement and developing your technical skills.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a supportive team and is keen to contribute to the manufacture of some truly exciting technology.
