Subsea asset integrity monitoring challenges
Every asset type, one monitoring system
The integrity risk of a subsea asset develops according to how it is loaded and operated.
A riser can accumulate fatigue through continuous cyclic loading and vortex-induced vibration. A mooring line can be exposed to excessive tension or uneven load distribution. A pipeline can gradually walk across the seabed, increasing the loading and tension acting on it. A wellhead can accumulate fatigue from drilling operations, layered on top of long-term production loads.
The warning signs are different for every asset and so is the data needed to identify them.
A generic sensor package can tell you that something has changed. It takes an asset-focused monitoring approach to understand whether that change matters.
Our monitoring systems are configured around the behaviour, loading and integrity risks of each asset. We identify the failure mechanisms that matter, the parameters that reveal them, and the data needed to provide meaningful warning.
That could mean detecting changes in movement or vibration, tracking load and tension, monitoring fatigue accumulation, or confirming that an asset remains within its expected operating envelope.
The result is actionable insight, giving you the information to schedule an inspection when it is needed, adjust operating conditions, investigate a developing issue, or confidently stand down an intervention when the data shows the asset remains within safe limits.
That’s the difference between monitoring an asset and understanding its’ performance.
