Join our team and help shape an exceptional employee experience!

At Sonardyne International, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As a global leader in underwater technology, we’re proud of our innovative products, talented teams and the culture that makes Sonardyne such a special place to work.

Now, as part of the Kraken Robotics group, we’re entering an exciting new chapter of growth and opportunity. As our business continues to evolve, we’re looking for an organised, enthusiastic and people-focused People & Culture Coordinator to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on building positive relationships and takes pride in making sure the little things are done brilliantly.

The Role

As our People & Culture Coordinator, you’ll play an important part in delivering a positive, consistent and supportive employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle.

Working closely with our People & Culture Business Partner, you’ll provide essential coordination and administrative support across a wide range of HR activities, from welcoming new starters and supporting recruitment through to employee engagement, absence management, probation reviews and HR administration.

You’ll be a friendly and approachable point of contact for employees and managers, helping to ensure our People & Culture processes run smoothly, efficiently and professionally.

No two days will be quite the same, and that’s part of what makes this role so rewarding!

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting Our People & Culture

  • Help coordinate employee engagement, recognition, wellbeing and culture initiatives that make Sonardyne a great place to work.
  • Support the employee journey, including onboarding, offboarding and recruitment coordination, ensuring everyone receives a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine People & Culture enquiries, providing helpful guidance and directing more complex matters to the appropriate team members.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the business.

Keeping Everything Running Smoothly

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date and confidential employee records, HR systems and documentation.
  • Support HR compliance activities, reporting, audits and the administration of company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with payroll and benefits administration, ensuring information is accurate and submitted within agreed timescales.
  • Provide administrative support for employee-related matters, including meeting coordination, documentation, note-taking and follow-up actions.

Supporting Employee Development & Wellbeing

  • Coordinate probationary review processes, including employee and manager check-ins, recording feedback and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
  • Support the administration of employee absences, including sickness, statutory leave and other approved absences.
  • Maintain accurate absence records and assist with return-to-work coordination and related documentation.
  • Provide employees and managers with clear information about absence procedures and available support.
  • Recognise when sensitive or complex matters require escalation to the People & Culture Business Partner.

About You

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, has excellent organisational skills and understands the importance of providing a professional, confidential and approachable HR service.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience within HR, People & Culture, business administration or a similar coordination role.
  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related subject, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding, recruitment administration, HR processes or employee documentation.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, employee records and the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, professional and helpful approach.
  • The confidence to work independently on routine tasks while recognising when to seek advice or escalate more complex matters.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting employees and contributing to a great workplace culture.

Experience supporting payroll, benefits, probationary reviews or absence management would be an advantage.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who is approachable, dependable, organised and passionate about making a difference to the people around them.
