Post-deployment care
After each deployment, thoroughly rinse the Nano transponder in warm, clean fresh water. Pay particular attention to the pressure relief vent valve to ensure any salt, debris or contaminants are removed. Once cleaned, dry the unit using a clean, lint-free cloth.
Inspect the transducer and housing for any signs of mishandling, external damage or leakages. The pressure relief valve should also be inspected and tested. Follow section 8.8 of UM-8262-v2 User Manual for Nano Transponders and Transcievers for full details of how to do this.
Battery care and storage
If left enabled while not in use for extended periods, the Nano transponder may enter a deep discharge state, which can affect battery performance. To help maintain battery health and ensure the unit is ready for use:
- Disable the Nano when it is not in use.
- Charge the unit whenever possible to maintain a full battery charge.
- Refer to Section 8.7 of the 8262 User Manual for additional guidance on battery care and storage.
- Perform routine health checks
We recommend performing regular health checks using 6G Terminal Lite. This software allows you to verify the operational status of the Nano transponder and download a test report for record-keeping and diagnostics.
Handling and impact protection
As with all electronic equipment, the Nano transponder should be handled with care to prevent internal damage.
Some Nano transponder variants include NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality, which incorporates a ferrite disk within the unit. Exposure to significant shock, impact or rough handling can damage internal components, including the ferrite disk and may result in degraded performance or loss of functionality.
To ensure reliable operation, avoid dropping the unit or subjecting it to excessive mechanical stress.
