We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector (Mechanical) to join the Quality team. This role is integral to ensuring that all mechanical components—whether produced in-house or by external suppliers—meet defined specifications, certification requirements, and industry standards.

Working within the established Quality Management System, the successful candidate will play a key role in verifying that products are fit for purpose, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards expected across operations.


If you join, you will be responsible for :

  • Conduct detailed inspection of mechanical components and assemblies using conventional inspection tools and 3-axis CMM (Aberlink Axiom) equipment, including program creation.
  • Verify in-house machined parts using a range of gauges and inspection methods to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and report non-conformances through internal systems, supporting timely resolution with engineering teams.
  • Carry out PMI testing and chemical etching where required.
  • Review and validate accompanying certification and documentation for all inspected items.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including communication, issue resolution, and occasional audits/visits.
  • Inspect additional assemblies (e.g. coils, cables, battery packs), including visual checks, labelling, and basic functional testing (training provided).
  • Collaborate with design and development teams when inspecting prototype components.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records within the company ERP system (Syspro), including reject documentation.
  • Ensure all inspection equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with calibration schedules.
  • Promote and adhere to a strong health & safety culture at all times.

About You

The ideal candidate is a meticulous and proactive professional with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. They will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Essential

  • Proven experience inspecting mechanical components, ideally within precision engineering or pressure vessel environments.
  • Experience using CMM equipment (Aberlink Axiom preferred).
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and inspection techniques.
  • Competence with IT systems, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Desirable

  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Awareness of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements for sub-assemblies.
