Sonardyne International is a world leader in marine technology, delivering innovative solutions to customers across the globe. We’re now looking for a Project Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team and play a key role in ensuring quality excellence throughout our projects.
About the Role
As a Project Quality Engineer, you’ll work closely with project managers and design engineers to embed quality standards from proposal through to delivery. You’ll be at the centre of ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements, driving continuous improvement, and safeguarding quality at every stage of the project lifecycle.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working across teams, and influencing how projects are delivered. The role will require some travel to customer sites and regional offices.
If you join us you will :

Define and document quality expectations and deliverables at the outset of projects.

Support risk management by identifying quality-related risks and mitigation strategies using FMEA.

Develop and implement project-specific quality plans aligned with Sonardyne project controls.

Conduct quality reviews at all key stages: initiation, planning, development, pre-production, testing, and release.

Ensure supplier and internal compliance with technical, regulatory, and customer standards.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for project and post-launch non-conformances.

Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and attention to detail across project teams.
Ideally we would like :

Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO/TS standards, and regulatory frameworks.

Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, capability analysis, control plans, 8D, and RCA.

Working knowledge of project management methodology and stage gate reviews.

Skilled in auditing, inspection, validation processes, and data analysis.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Proactive, analytical, and able to integrate quality assurance into project planning and execution.
and it would be a bonus if you had :

APM PMQ qualification.

Experience with design for manufacturing.

Proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives.
