We are looking for a proactive and organised Expeditor / Assistant Buyer to join our Materials Control team. This role is key to ensuring supplier deliveries are aligned with internal forecasts, production schedules, and customer requirements.
You will manage the purchase order expediting process, communicate with suppliers to resolve delays, and support purchasing activities across an allocated portfolio of products and services. The role requires close collaboration with Purchasing, Planning, Engineering and Production teams to maintain smooth material flow within a manufacturing environment.

If you join, you will be responsible for :

Manage and expedite supplier purchase orders to ensure delivery dates meet business requirements.

Generate and distribute weekly supplier order books and update delivery commitments in the ERP system.

Action MRP reschedule messages, including bring forward, defer or cancellation requests.

Review and process supplier acknowledgements against purchase orders.

Communicate directly with suppliers to resolve delays and maintain delivery performance.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Escalate supplier issues and delivery risks to the relevant Buyer when required.

Represent the Purchasing team in weekly Sales Order / Production meetings, providing updates on supplier shortages.

Work closely with Planning and Production teams to manage material availability.

Monitor and report supplier on-time delivery performance against targets.

Maintain accurate records within the ERP system including lead times, costs and delivery data.

Process non-stock purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders.

Support RFQ processes and place purchase orders generated through MRP.

Assist with new supplier approvals when required.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing team.
