Double recognition in Kings Awards for Enterprise 2025

06052025

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded not just one, but two prestigious King’s Awards for Enterprise this year! This rare double honour makes us one of only two UK companies to achieve this distinction in 2025.

Today (Tuesday 6 May) we, alongside 197 other outstanding UK organisations recognised with King’s Awards, earnt accolades for both our Sustainable Development and International Trade.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have received this recognition. Receiving two King’s Awards in 2025 really celebrates Sonardyne’s fantastic growth which has been delivered whilst working sustainably. It’s a testament to the hard work of everyone at Sonardyne in making, selling and supporting great products, that operate across our blue planet, whilst caring deeply about how we do business to protect it. I hope as a company that we can inspire and help other UK businesses to do the same.”

Sonardyne Managing Director, Graham Brown.

Going Green While Growing Strong

The Sustainable Development award recognises our passionate commitment to environmental responsibility across our entire operation. Back in 2021, we challenged ourselves to become carbon neutral across all UK facilities by the end of 2025. We smashed that target, achieving verified carbon neutrality by the end of 2023 – two years ahead of schedule!

“Our vision is centred on being a sustainable and ethical business, one that benefits the communities we operate in, fosters economic enterprise and preserves the natural environment. In our industry sector we’ve been an early adopter of sustainability and we’ve proved that doing business sustainably has delivered real operational benefits for us.”

Sonardyne HSE Manager, Carl Holland

Global Growth That’s Making Waves

As for our International Trade award? We’ve seen strong growth in our overseas sales, with direct exports surging by a remarkable 83% over the last three years across energy, defence, and ocean science markets. This growth has been powered by our dedicated teams working from our facilities in the UK, USA, Singapore, and Brazil – and we’re still expanding, with a brand new office opening in Germany this year.

This isn’t our first royal recognition either. We previously received Queen’s Awards for Innovation in 2014 and 2021, solidifying our reputation as marine industry innovators constantly pushing technological boundaries.

We’ll be bringing your more news about these awards and what has led us to receive them over the coming months.
