A Royal recognition at Windsor Castle

24062025

As recipients of two prestigious Kings Awards for Enterprise this year, we were delighted to be invited to Windsor Castle on Thursday 12th June. His Majesty King Charles III hosted the 2025 award winners in the castle’s Great Hall for a drinks and canapés reception.

Sonardyne’s Projects Director Shaun Dunn represented the company for the International Trade award and HSE Manager Carl Holland attended to represent the Sustainable Development award.

Shaun commented, “It was a real privilege, and a personal career highlight, to represent Sonardyne at the awards reception. It was an honour to meet and talk to the King and I’d like to thank the company for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

The event also provided a great opportunity to meet other award winners from across the UK. Meeting King Charles was particularly meaningful, given his well-known passion for sustainable practices.

Carl echoed Shaun’s sentiment, “It was a real honour to meet the King and talk about sustainability with him. Despite the grand setting, the atmosphere was informal and friendly and we met some really interesting people. Being double award winners certainly drew plenty of attention. We were asked lots of questions and were specifically highlighted to the King during conversations.”

We look forward to bringing you more information related to the awards, and the extensive work behind them, over the coming months.
