What is the difference between SPRINT-Nav Mini Guidance and Navigator?

21 June 2021

Two different variants exist of SPRINT-Nav Mini.

The SPRINT-Nav Mini is designed to support both remotely operated and autonomous surface and subsea vehicles which naturally has different requirements from a guidance, control and navigation perspective. To best support the different vehicles our customers can chose between two variants of the SPRINT-Nav Mini, Guidance and Navigator.

While both variants have identical interface and will accept the same aiding sources such as GPS, USBL, etc. the Guidance variant has been restricted to not output an absolute position while still providing all necessary information for Guidance and Control, i.e. heading, attitude, altitude, depth, velocities and rotation rates.

Keeping the interface identical makes it extremely simple for our customers as they can change between the two variants without any changes on their side.
