SOUND SURVEYOR
Sound Surveyor, A 12mtr catamaran built by Blue water boats in 2007, powered by 2- 420hp Volvo Penta’s engines. She is crewed by a highly experienced Sonardyne team & certified to MCA Cat 2 allowing her to conduct maritime operations out to 60nm day or night. These operations include the deployment of subsea acoustic positioning and sonar imaging equipment which can be deployed on dedicated poles either over the side or via through -hull moon pools.
Utilizing the Heila crane, a variety of equipment from ROV’s & autonomous vehicles can easily be launched from the large aft working deck.
The cabin provides ample space for the installation of operational control & surveying equipment allowing an excellent work environment whilst maintaining easy communication with the bridge and work-deck. Sound Surveyor also offers single wireless connection whilst alongside, at sea Viprinet connection offering 3 x 4G connections utilizing overlapping networks, this provides an excellent stable connection and extended range.
Based in Plymouth, Sound Surveyor is used primarily for Sonardyne product development, training and demonstration and is also available for charter by third party organizations. Chartering Sound Surveyor can be done using either Sonardyne equipment or independently for surveying and hydrographic use. With the ability to conduct a varying array of maritime operational procedures Sound surveyor is a highly adaptable & safe platform.
