Compatt Transponder Family – Which one is right for your application?

Standard

All Medium Frequency Compatt 5s now incorporate Wideband Technology which uses advanced digital signalling techniques to dramatically improve the performance of acoustic positioning, navigation and telemetry systems. The faster and more rugged wideband telemetry scheme supported by Compatt 5, enables baseline measurement and calibration data to be acquired faster and more reliably, allowing users to begin work sooner.

Mini

Compatt 6 Mini is the smallest in the range of Compatt 6 transponders. The design offers the user a lightweight unit with the same acoustic output power as a Compatt 6 Standard transponder, but without the integrated sensor system. Compatt 6 Mini is therefore perfectly suited to deep water vehicle navigation and telemetry applications using smaller ROVs and towed bodies in water depths up to 7,000 metres.

Midi

Available with Omni Directional and Directional transducers for deep water high noise applications, options for the Compatt 5 Midi also include a flat, square inclinometer endcap for accurate alignment on subsea structures. For the first time, Compatt 5 endcaps also now have the option of a combined sound velocity and acoustic release mechanism.

Max

Compatt 5 Max is designed to reduce the total deployment costs associated with vessel time installing reference transponders during both drilling and construction phases of
large field developments. The ultra long battery life enables Compatt 5 Max transponders to be left in situ through out all drilling and construction activities therefore saving vessel installation time which reduces operational cost.

Heavy Load

The Heavy Load Compatt 5 combines the benefits of an advanced subsea navigation transponder with the heavy lift capabilities of an acoustic release transponder for use in the construction survey market. The transponder has been developed to allow a user to precisely position a structure or load on the seabed and then release it on command using a Sonardyne Long BaseLine or Ultra- Short BaseLine acoustic navigation system. The need for a separate back deck unit to control the acoustic release is therefore removed, saving operational time and money.
