About the Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for repairing and servicing a wide range of advanced electronic and mechanical systems. You’ll work closely with our Workshop Supervisor, provide support and guidance to a Trainee Technician, and help ensure our Aberdeen facility runs smoothly and efficiently.
Whether you’re fault-finding at component level, liaising with customers, or ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, your technical knowledge and pride in your work will be critical to our success.
If you join this is what you will do:

Performing complex and standard repairs, servicing, and calibration of Sonardyne products

Diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment to component level using wiring diagrams and schematics

Preparing accurate repair quotations and logging work using our ERP system (Syspro)

Providing day-to-day guidance and technical support to a Trainee Technician
-
Supporting the Workshop Supervisor with operational updates and coordination of workloads
-
Deputising for the Supervisor when required and ensuring consistent workflow and quality standards

Occasionally travelling offshore or to customer sites to install, commission or repair equipment
-
Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the workshop and warehouse
Ideally we are looking for

HNC/HND in Electronics or equivalent experience
-
Strong background in electronic fault-finding, mechanical assembly, and service/repair work
-
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and debug circuits at component level
-
Hands-on and confident in a workshop setting, with a high level of attention to detail
-
A proactive, collaborative approach with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service
-
Willingness and ability to travel offshore or to site when required
-
Strong organisational and communication skills
And if you have any of the following its a big bonus:

Experience with Sonardyne products or similar subsea technology

Familiarity with soldering to IPC J-STD-001 standard

Ability to lead small teams and coordinate workloads

Experience training or mentoring junior technicians
