Simon holds the position of Engineering Director and has enjoyed a career with Sonardyne spanning over 20 years.
He joined the company in 1994 as junior product development engineer after gaining a first class degree in Electronic and Mechanical Engineering from Reading University and then a Masters in Oceanography from Southampton University.
Simon quickly progressed in seniority through Sonardyne’s engineering teams, along the way proving highly influential in the development and testing of offshore systems with a particular focus on the marine seismic and ocean science sectors. More recently, Simon was instrumental in the development of our sixth generation (6G) subsea technology platform which has gone on to enjoy considerable commercial success around the world, including receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2014.
In his role as Engineering Director, Simon also leads the identification, acquisition and development of future subsea technologies including inertial navigation, optical communication and sonar imaging.
