Who are we looking for?

This is a dynamic position that will provide an exciting opportunity to join Sonardyne’s expanding Engineering Department. The Doppler Group develop Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCPs) for sale. The purpose of the role is to provide support for core development within Doppler Group to allow acceleration of ADCP products.

Your responsibilities:

This scope of the role includes development of firmware deployed on a range of subsea ADCP devices, embedded web pages and engineering tools.

  • Writing succinct, reliable code in a variety of languages.
  • Acquisition of data from the physical world and manipulation of that data.
  • Develop software and embedded firmware for ADCP products.
  • Communicate work and ideas/improvements to other Doppler group members
  • Proactive problem solving.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge & expereince:

Essential

  • Comprehensive experience of C/C++
  • Undergraduate Degree (1st/2.1 Physics or Engineering)
  • A-levels in Maths, Physics and one other subject at A/A*

Desirable

  • Javascript/HTML/CSS
  • C#
  • Demonstrable development experience
