Ahead of schedule

We are carbon neutral

With our roots firmly anchored in the world’s seas and oceans, the sustainability and health of our planet is as key to our future as a business as it is for us as a population.

In 2021 we set ourselves an ambitious goal – to become carbon neutral across our UK facilities by the end of 2025. A real challenge when many other UK companies were setting their similar targets for 2040 and beyond.

In a tribute to company-wide hard work, commitment and investment, we met our objective by the end of 2023 financial year – independently verified 2 years ahead of schedule

Although our ambitious target was met well ahead of time, we are not ‘resting on our laurels’ with regards to our commitment to sustainability and the environment. Work continues with our supply chain to extend the drive for carbon neutrality throughout our partner industries. Continual assessments of our UK energy use will lead to further investments to make us even more lean, clean and green.

Our history

Engineering the future of underwater
technology for over
50 years.

Founded in 1971, Sonardyne has been a world leader in underwater tech for over 50 years. Our innovations, like the Compatt transponder, helped position the world’s first deep-water platforms. From tracking shipwrecks to detecting tsunamis, Our acoustics, inertial, and sensing tech continues to push boundaries in ocean science, defense, and offshore energy. Today, we are still a family-owned business that continues to push boundaries in marine technology.
