Remote Sensor Pack

Sonardyne’s Remote Sensor Pack (RSP) is an ROV manipulator- deployed instrument enabling the precise measurement of depth, pitch and roll along with data provided from an externally interfaced altimeter. It provides all the information required for conducting seabed and structure levelling surveys from within a single instrument.

The RSP tightly integrates both a Digiquartz pressure sensor and precision dual axis inclinometer reducing the number of individual instruments thereby saving time through quick interfacing and simple operation.

The sensors are mounted in a pressure housing with a rugged precision reference plate and a versatile ROV manipulator handle.

The RSP can be interfaced directly to an ROV MUX requiring just a single serial channel. Alternatively, the RSP can be plugged directly into a Sonardyne ROVNav 6 which provides power and communications. This negates additional interfacing into the ROV MUX, again reducing installation time and complexity.

With the ROVNav 6 supporting a direct measurement sound velocity probe, all survey sensors are available via the ROVNav6 and Remote Sensor Pack system.

An altimeter plugged into the RSP allows the seabed relative height to be measured whilst the ROV is moving. This negates the requirement for the ROV to stop en-route for direct reading measurements, reducing the time taken for a bathymetric survey.

The Remote Sensor Pack is constructed from Duplex Stainless Steel for corrosion resistance and ruggedness.
